Carla Franchina
Carla is an Associate at Best Wilson Buckley and works across the Brisbane and North Lakes offices.
Carla has been working in specialist family law firms in Brisbane since 2010, firstly as an administrative assistant and paralegal and then as a practising Solicitor following her admission in 2013. This rewarding pathway through all facets of dedicated family law firms has gifted her with a well-rounded approach to her practise and the delivery of expert family law advices.
Carla’s interactions with clients are empathetic and proactive with a focus on helping them to build confidence and positivity around forging their new life pathway. Collaboratively trained, she is passionate about assisting her clients to resolve their matter quickly and cost-effectively in order to minimise the associated emotional and financial toll that family law matters can have. Carla’s approach to working with her clients is to encourage their focus on a pathway which is geared towards achieving the most optimal legal and personal outcome through amicable agreements wherever practical and possible.
Carla regularly volunteers at the Women’s Legal Service where she provides free legal advice to women in her local community who are at risk of domestic and family violence. Her dedication to her clients and the esteem with which she is held within the family law fraternity have seen her named as finalist in the nation-wide Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards in both 2018 and 2019.
Expertise and Professional Qualifications
Carla has practised exclusively in family law following her admission in 2013. With over five years of experience working in this complex area of the law, she has gained incredible skill in resolving complex parenting matters involving relocation, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health issues, and communication difficulties between parents. She is also an experienced property settlement lawyer and is well-versed in preparing Financial Agreements. Carla also regularly assists clients in domestic and family violence matters, often appearing in local Magistrates Courts when required.
As a collaboratively trained family lawyer, Carla’s focus is to protect the best interests of her clients and their family by resolving matters through an amicable agreement wherever practical. After exhausting all avenues for reaching agreements outside of Court, her experience allows her to effectively guide clients through litigation and Court proceedings where necessary to achieve the most optimal outcome to their family law matter.
