Neal Wood
Neal is Special Counsel at Best Wilson Buckley Family Law in the firm’s Toowoomba office. He is also a nationally accredited Mediator.
Since his admission in 2008, Neal has practised exclusively in family law within specialised family law firms across the Brisbane and Toowoomba regions. His advice is robust, practical, realistic, and as unique as each client he supports, whether it be through a negotiated process or through Court proceedings. The clear and definitive impact of family law on a person’s life is what drives Neal’s desire to support clients in this area of the law, and his approach is as the calm voice and touchstone of stability and reason who works with clients towards an outcome that achieves a defined future and a sense of closure.
Since moving from Brisbane to Toowoomba in 2015 to join the Best Wilson Buckley Family Law team, Neal’s presence in the local community has been strengthened through his involvement with the Toowoomba Family Relationship Centre where he provides free legal advice to members of his community as well as representing clients in mediations on a pro-bono basis. He is also helping to shape the next generation of family lawyers by participating in the University of Southern Queensland’s high-school and university student moot competitions where his years of experience and insight as a senior practitioner allow him to succeed as a coach to teams of young law students. Outside the world of law, Neal regularly participates in triathlons, marathons, and other sporting events in an effort to raise funds and awareness for numerous charities in the community.
