Hi, I’m Amity.
I’m an Ipswich family lawyer and Brisbane family lawyer working at Best Wilson Buckley.
I’ve been practising exclusively in family law since 2008. Prior to joining Best Wilson Buckley in 2016, I worked at a top-tier firm in Brisbane which gifted me with exposure to many complex parenting matters and high net worth property settlement matters.
In 2017 I became a Queensland Law Society Accredited Family Law Specialist, which is a formal qualification that recognises a lawyer’s high level of expertise in a chosen area of practice. As a born and bred Ipswich local, I’m proud to be one of the few family law specialists working in the west Brisbane region. I firmly believe my clients shouldn’t have to travel into a capital city to receive top level legal advice and support and am honoured to be providing that level of support to families in our local community.
Family law is an incredibly complex area of the law, and a key part of my job is to decipher these complexities on your behalf, and communicate the law and your options in a way that is as simple as possible. I am experienced in providing advice and representing clients across all areas of family law, including complex property and parenting matters involving trusts, corporate restructuring, international relocation, and more.
Why family law?
Controversially, family law was not my first choice. In fact, I was largely forced into it. The love I have since developed for this area of the law has been driven by the people I am fortunate enough to work with – both my clients and the Best Wilson Buckley team – and it’s why I’ve been working exclusively as a family lawyer since 2008.
Assisting a family unit to move forward and wade through what is sometimes the worst situation they have found themselves in is incredibly rewarding. I aim to offer a compassionate and practical approach to the needs of my clients, and I continue to be motivated by the opportunity to meet new people and support them towards a resolution. My practise aims to balance compassion and empathy with practical, level-headed commercial advice. Ensuring you feel supported and comforted at each stage of your matter is key to how we will work together throughout your journey with our firm.
