Kiara Bergh

Hi there, I’m Kiara.

I’m an Ipswich family lawyer working with BWB.

I’ve worked exclusively in family law since joining the Best Wilson Buckley team in 2016. Prior to becoming a lawyer in 2017, I gained exposure by working with and learning from experienced lawyers in our Toowoomba, Brisbane, and North Lakes offices before relocating to Ipswich in 2018. This invaluable experience ultimately shaped the way I practice and ensures my clients receive holistic and tailored legal advice at each step of their family law journey.

Working within a specialist family law firm since my admission to the legal profession has gifted me with an intricate and well-informed understanding of the family law system. I have represented clients across all areas of family law including divorce, property settlements, child protection, and child support. I am particularly skilled in acting for clients facing domestic and family violence concerns, either as the aggrieved or respondent, as well as acting for parents aiming to resolve and formalise their parenting arrangements. Whichever area of the law my clients are needing assistance with – be it one or many – I am passionate about resolving matters at the earliest opportunity and on the most mutually beneficial terms.

Why family law?

When I decided that I wanted to be a lawyer, I knew I wanted to work in an area that allowed me to build personal connections with my clients. I didn’t want to draft contracts all day or fight big companies. As soon as I started working in family law, I fell in love with it from the start. The relationship I am able to build with my clients is ultimately what keeps me coming back each day.

I work in family law so I can make a difference in a tangible way. As family lawyers, we’re dealing with people’s lives day in, day out – whether it be their children, their home, or their property portfolio. What we do quite literally has the ability to change people’s lives in an incredibly positive way. I like to think that each day I offer something to a client that makes them sleep a little better at night, and makes them feel at ease.

How do clients describe your approach?

The many clients I have worked with over the years have told me that I am professional, enthusiastic, and responsive. The way I work instils in my clients a sense of confidence, and they are reassured that I am invested in their matter and am committed to achieving the best possible outcome for them.
